Beezer news: It’s here, the Official GAA Mobile App

15 February 2018; Ard Stiúrthóir of the GAA Páraic Duffy with, from left, Paraic Hampsey, Tyrone Football, Tomas Meehan, Chief Information officer with the GAA, Lucy Martin, marketing officer with Beezer, Gareth Quinn, Chief strategy officer with Beezer, and Eoghan Kerin, Galway Football, in attendance during the GAA members App Launch at Croke Park in Dublin.

Last month we saw the launch of the Official GAA Mobile App at Croke Park

On 15th February 2018, the team at Beezer dressed up (a rare occasion) and travelled down to the breathtaking Croke Park Stadium for the Official GAA App launch. Beezer is providing its new platform to Servasport to enable it to offer new technology and functionality to the GAA.

The GAA, through Servasport, is the first organisation to onboard onto our new platform. The largest amateur sporting organisation in the world; the GAA have more than 500,000 members worldwide who historically had to be manually updated onto the Servasport platform by club administrators. This has now been streamlined through the GAA App developed by Beezer as part of the new platform, providing specific time-savings and efficiencies through its new technology.

In addition to the online membership and communication functionality, one of the key, and very timely benefits of the new Beezer platform is how it helps organisations adhere to the dreaded GDPR legislation coming into effect on 25th May. Working closely with the GAA, Beezer will help sports organisations not only ensure that they are supported in delivering its data protection obligations but also its many clubs who are responsible for the information of its members. Our learning while working alongside clients including the GAA has given us the knowledge to build out a solution that will be adopted by sports organisations across the world at a time when a more forensic eye is placed on how we all manage sensitive data.

Critical to the success of the new platform is the direct engagement with members through an Android and iOS App. One of the critical objectives of the App is to reduce the overhead for club administrators in processing annual membership applications.

So how does it work? Easy!
  1. Each member is invited to download the App by the relevant Club Administrator
  2. The member Reads and Accepts membership declaration
  3. View the Individual fees and membership category
  4. Pay the required fees
  5. Registration complete!!

Having effectively launched phase 1 of the platform, we are growing our development teams further (see here to be part of an amazing team) and building out and launching subsequent phases of exciting new functionality which will have a significant impact for current and future clients.
